Having used similar types of backpack covers in the past which had a lot of trouble staying on, either with straps that broke or elastic round the edge that didn't really hold it, I was drawn to this with the velcro straps. After a few years of use, I've bought a replacement as the mesh pocket, where I stuffed all my cycling stuff (including bungy straps) was beginning to rip (mainly caused by bungy strap hooks getting caught in it). The rest of the cover is still in good condition. I use it to cover my backpack on the rack of my bike, and it has been very effective in keeping the rain out, even in some extreme downpours. The high-vis nature of it is also great. I would also say BTR's customer service was great in dealing in sorting things out when I ordered the wrong size. I also find that passing the vertical strap between the two horizontal straps keeps it from hanging right off if you need to get into the top of your backpack, or if the velcro at the top becomes detached.

United KingdomGreat hi visibility and waterproof cover. Only slight change I’d like, slightly longer top to bottom straps. When rucksack is full need to pull the straps tightly to close. This is a 40 litre bag. Plenty of strap on the width fasteners. However all makes of rucksacks are different so this is not a general comment.
