USB rechargeable bike lights and simple battery-powered LED sets for UK cyclists. Front and rear bike lights for commuting, night riding, school runs and dark country lanes, all with tool-free silicone or clip mounts that fit any bike in seconds.

Choosing the Right Bike Light Set

The right bike light depends on where you ride. City and well-lit suburban streets need enough light to be seen by drivers. Unlit roads and country lanes need lights bright enough to actually light the road ahead. UK law requires a white front light and a red rear light when riding between sunset and sunrise, with reflectors on the pedals.

USB Rechargeable Sets (Recommended)

Our USB rechargeable bike light sets are the best value choice for most riders. No batteries to buy, IPX4 waterproof so they handle UK weather, and bright enough to commute confidently after dark.

  • 300 Lumen USB Rechargeable Set: entry-tier front and rear set. 300 lumen front headlight with 14-LED rear tail light. Ideal for city and suburban commuting where street lighting does most of the work.
  • 500 Lumen Twin T6 Set with Battery Indicator: brighter twin LED front headlight with COB rear light, plus a battery indicator so you know exactly how much charge is left. Designed for unlit roads, country lanes and longer rides.

Simple Battery-Powered Lights

If you want something cheap and cheerful as a backup or for a kid’s bike, the simpler battery-powered options still have their place.

How Many Lumens Do You Actually Need?

Lumens are a measure of brightness. As a rough guide for UK riding:

  • Lit city streets: 100-300 lumens is enough to be seen.
  • Mixed suburban roads: 300-600 lumens. Our 300 lumen set fits this perfectly.
  • Unlit country lanes: 500-1,000 lumens. Our 500 lumen Twin T6 set is built for this.
  • Off-road and trail riding: 1,000+ lumens, often with a helmet light too.

UK Bike Light Law in Brief

Under the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989, when riding between sunset and sunrise on a public road in the UK you must have:

  • A white front light
  • A red rear light
  • A red rear reflector
  • Amber pedal reflectors (front and rear) on each pedal

Flashing modes are allowed. Lights and reflectors should comply with British Standard BS6102/3 or an equivalent EU standard. All BTR rechargeable bike light sets meet the requirement when used on the steady setting.

Pair Your Lights With the Rest of Your Visibility Kit

Lights are only half the visibility story. Most UK drivers spot reflective gear from much further away than a lone bike light, especially in dawn and dusk light. Pair your lights with our hi-vis reflective cycling jackets and gilets, our waterproof helmet covers in fluorescent yellow, or our reflective backpack and rucksack covers for commuters with a bag.
